Meet the Living Reef Observatory

The Living Reef Observatory is Reef Cloverson’s growing record of coral colonies, aquarium conditions, husbandry decisions, and biological change.

Instead of showing a coral only when it looks its best, the observatory follows it over time. Colony records will document growth, coloration, environmental conditions, placement, lighting, flow, feeding, chemistry, stress events, and recovery.

The objective is simple: show the reef as honestly and precisely as possible.

As the archive develops, visitors will be able to explore:

• Individual coral colony records
• Growth photographs and measurements
• Lighting and flow conditions
• Aquarium parameters and ICP results
• Feeding, dosing, and maintenance practices
• System changes and biological observations

Many of the corals documented here were acquired through Pieces of the Ocean, where I work in coral aquaculture and continue developing my experience with coral husbandry, propagation, and long-term system management.
